Today is my birthday, the seventh of March, 2001. Today I am 23 and will spend my day acting as a cowboy for a friend's student film. I hope this doesn't take all day because I have a lot of drinking to do.... .....somethings never change no matter how old one gets.....
Let me tell you some things about myself. My name is Hugh Gormley and I am 23 years old (well deeeerrrrrr!!!!). I live in the semi rural town of Wagga Wagga in the Riverina in the south west of the state of New South Wales in Australia.
I grew up in the city of Newcastle which is also in New South Wales in the Hunter region. I lived there until I was 22 and was previously studying environmental science at Newcastle University.
I left my family and friends at the start of 2000 to pursue my dream to get into television production which I am studying via Charles Sturt University. ...Anyway, have got to go now, let the fun begin!!!!!! Well, the excessive alcohol consumption is bad for your health
The best thing about doing the film for Adam et al was that they had to provide free beer for the other actors and myself at the 'union club' , which in turn led to the whole cast being completely pissed.
This meant that even the poorest of my friends was ready to go for a big night on the sauce and that the night started at 3pm and went until 3am... we started at Rivcoll, went to the Vic, got a kebab and went home. But all in all, it wasnt the most rockin birthday I have ever had
I was feeling pretty down at around 9pm because of the beer level rising and, actually more likely if the truth be told, I was feeling down on myself, thinking that I wasnt going to last with my great new girlfriend. Anyway, she arrived and I instantly felt better.
I have to go now, but I will tell you more about her tomorrow....
Have had a big day at Uni today with a full day of lessons, but tonight we are going out to have some real fun after the sickness that brought down wednesday
...But enough about that....I know you just want to know about the girl.
I met her 3 weeks ago, or rather, we got together 3 weeks ago after the 'Superjesus' played at Rivcoll I actually knew her last year, and pursued her somewhat. After The Superjesus though, we drunkenly took each other home and from there everything has been going great guns although I tend to have a lot of self doubt due to my more recent previous experiences with the opposite sex In any case, she has boosted my confidence no end with her certain reassuring way. She so cool, but enough of the soppy bullshit. I am going to have a disco nap in preparation for tonight! .... Talk t' ya on Monday!!!!!! By the way her name is 'Susie' What a cool weekend, Spent pretty much all of Saturday in bed because we were well and truelly to hung over to get up. yep, 'Susie' stayed again. It was pretty damned cool. We just sat around in my shitty little single bed and talked and watched movies. We watched 'The Insider' and 'Fight Club' . We have not really been seperated from each other for the past three weeks and are continually talking until the crack of dawn and then catching a few hours worth of ZZZZZ'ss before getting up and doing stuff together and then talking again until the morning birds come out and piss us off Sunday saw us enjoy a cool game of squash and then go to the Sydney Travelling Film Festival to see a Canadian film called 'Grass' about Marijuana which was narrated by Woody Harrelson It was pretty funny as it completely took the piss and sampled examples like Cheech and Chong and made the American law-makers who banned hemp look "pretty farkin' stoopid" (sorry for the Cheech and Chong impersonation.) Anyway, got to get back down to Tv land for my tutorial.... ....later!!!!!!
Not much to say about today other than that I am going to see 'Shower' tonight at the Sydney Travelling Film Festival ...should be good... Shower was farkin' brilliant but I have just realized that my second last entry may have seemed like I was a total pot head Seems like it could possibly be a great time to use a table for the first time seeing as though one will be necessary soon anyhow. So here it is, it outlines all the drug references that I made above:
Anyway, the big news today is that I will be cooking 'susie' dinner tonight. She is coming over at around 8pm for 'dinner'; but she has no idea that it will be a three course delight, candlelit, of course, and champagne, etcetera. I just cant wait to see her face. i expect it will be good promise to fill you all in tomorrow. preparation is my focus now
Im not one to kiss and tell, but the dinner went down like a greased oyster. If you could have seen the look on her face!!!!! She entered the room saying thank you for the dinner invite and was then completely stunned in a kind of 'ground force' kind of way I am a big believer in treating someone that you really feel for whenever you can and it was so good to see her happy with something that I had done for her. She said no one had ever done anything like that for her before, I was glad that I could give her something back for how happy she makes me feel.
Went out with the Suse-ster last night. Actually, I took her out to dinner at Elle's restaurant, just around the corner. We drank wine, we were merry, we were there and not at the tav because we had both agreed that we were pretty flogged after throwing each other and my flatmates in our grotty inflatable pool the night before on this night though, 'Suse' decides that it is actually maybe a good idea to go out. So she drags us all out (she just has this certain power over guys) and while we sit around nursing our bali belly, she gets as trashed as you would think humanly possible I carry my poor chicken home (emphasis on 'carry') and put her to bed (4 times, she wants more drink or needs to spew) In any case, she gets up the next morning (early afternoon actually) and fails to acknowledge anything about her escapade the night before In fact, I think she is pretty keen to go out and do it again!!!! Ok, may as well explain the Beans Baxter seeing as though only on person I have mentioned this show to, in my normally drunken state, when such conversations arise, has ever known what I was talking about 'Beans' Baxter was a children's television character whose father had been stolen by god knows who for being a spy for the american government who seemed to be a simple mailman. When he is abducted, Beans (aka 'dougie' - his real name!) is contacted by his father's employers (the CIA!) who have him do their dirty work in my operations that attempt to get him back. Yes, Yes, all very far fetched says you! But this guy was the James Bond who lived on every suburban street block!..... Cool under pressure, danger was his middle name and it was all carried out with a smile of teeth full of braces! well, there you go, an explaination as to why the site is called what it is! and by the way, the reference to number 2 is that number 2 was Beans' contact (and not something done in a water closet!!!!-unfortunate code name eh?) Mum has arrived at last, she has brought me the rest of my furniture and at last I feel like I have a proper space to live in! The double bed has been here for a while along with my desk (both of which I forgot to mention had arrived since a long time ago!!) But its the little things that make it seem really so much more like home. We are going out for dinner somewhere tonight and she will stay through to saturday before she heads back via Mittagong or Berrima. Both the types of places that mothers like to visit She and Suse are getting along really well!!!! s' cool!!!!!!! Motorace are playing here in Wagga tonight and we are going!!!! I used to see top Australian bands all the time when I went to Newcastle University but it seems like Rivcoll don't give a shit about our entertainment out here in the sticks doesn't matter though; Motorace will be here tonight and rocking out. neither 'suse' nor I have any money but we plan on getting pretty wasted on left over goon from the weekend after mum left Im pretty sure mum had a good time?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!! P.S: I am going to Suse's house on the weekend to meet the parents! We have just returned from Talented Mr Ripley at The Riverina Playhouse which was a really cool interpretation of the script that differed a great deal from The Film of the same name. Not much else to report though as I am going to bed because we are of to Albury to Meet the Parents after a full day of class for both of us in the morning Had the best day today, Suse and I went driving all through Victoria and had a great time in the Australian alps. We went to Mt. Beauty, Bright and home via Beechworth. All of which were really cool. I have only just this minute stepped in the door to be able to type. But Ive just got to tell you what we discussed on the train. Fuck it, I'll tell you in the morning if i get time before the assignment is due. |
